Boosting Individual Performance
NIALE MCLOUGHLIN
International Speaker
“Let him that would move the world
first move himself” ~ Socrates
Although it’s often been said that “There
is no ‘I’ in Team”, organisational
performance is a function of individual contribution.
Only when individuals perform at their best, can
an organisation achieve its full potential and produce
outstanding results. This presentation provides
practical insights into personal behaviours which
either promote or inhibit the capacity for exceptional
individual performance. Delegates will gain useful
applications for their own organisation, as well
as insights for upgrading their personal productivity.
Each participant will receive a self-assessment
profile which identifies areas for attention and
highlights high-payoff actions. The assessment tool
can be applied across an organisation, with practical
actions for boosting individual performance and
achieving higher organisational output. |

Work & Life Fulfilment & Productivity
IAN HUTCHINSON
International Speaker
Do you want to be able to make better informed decisions
about you and your employees work, life and the
balance between the two? Do you want to be able
to fine tune work so that you and your people are
more productive, motivated and happier? Strategies
to work & life fulfilment & productivity
are often easier than you think. The major shift
in organisational management is realising that any
company’s number one customer should in fact
be their people. CEOs now rate engagement &
retention as the No. 1 critical success factor with
90% of organisations dealing with this issue at
board level. Innovative companies who recognise
that human capital is their most valuable asset
are engaging their employees by giving them personal
management skills in the areas of work life balance
and job fulfillment. We are all being asked to do
more with less. Psychologically everyone wants more
control of their life and work. In this exclusive
presentation, work life expert and International
Speaker Ian Hutchinson will show you how. |

New Talent Paradigms
PETER SHEAHAN
International Speaker
The ageing workforce in parts of Asia, and across
the western world coupled with high growth rates
in the region are causing acute skill shortages
across many industries. Your future success is
directly proportionate to the quality of the talent
you can attract, engage and retain in your business
and increasingly the talent you will be concerned
with will be members of Generation Y - those global
citizens born between 1978 & 1994. They have
different demands and expectations to former generations
and will require new management and employment
practices. In this session, Peter Sheahan, an
expert on generation Y will open your mind to
the challenges this new generation will force
upon your organisation. Key ideas include:
• Global workforce trends and their impacts
on big business
• The characteristics of Generation Y and
the demands and expectations this new generation
are placing on managers
• A new paradigm for management that will
not only be more productive with Generation Y
but with talented individuals across generations
• Helping other generations deal with their
judgements and biases that inevitably arise from
diversity
• An examination on how the needs and demands
of Gen Y are trending upwards

– Special Extended Plenary Presentation*
Cats and The FISH! Phenomenon: Rediscovering the
Bold Simplicity
of Our HR Mission
STEPHEN LUNDIN
International Speaker
CATS
The purpose of CATS is to organise and
present the most powerful principles of personal
innovation in a way that makes them useful for
everyday human beings going about their daily
lives with a desire to be more innovative.
It’s all about curiosity. Curiosity is a
trait celebrated in people and in cats. Curiosity
is also the very cornerstone of innovation. Cats
may be attracted to nooks and crannies that seem
pointless, but could you imagine innovation without
a human being who said to herself, “I wonder
what would happen if?” It is said that curiosity
killed the cat. Have you ever seen one die of
curiosity?
The Nine Lives of Innovation have been developed
to provide a structure to a rather diverse set
of ingredients that make up innovation. By accessing
the potential of any one of the nine lives we
boost our personal ability to innovate, even though
all around us there are forces trying to kill
our curiosity. And at work the curiosity killing
forces multiply and we can greatly increase the
odds that innovation will occur at work there
by living the nine lives. And once we live one
of the nine lives we can proudly call ourselves
a CAT!
The FISH! Phenomenon: Rediscovering
the Bold Simplicity of Our HR Mission
The FISH! Philosophy captured in book and film
has sparked what might be called the largest natural
experiment in the history of human resources.
All over the world, individuals, teams and organisations
have rediscovered the importance of HR in establishing
a great culture, creating higher levels of morale
and motivation, improving efforts to recruit and
retain talent and producing a higher quality of
life at work. While the provocation that provided
the initial spark for this rediscovery was a group
of fish mongers behaving like buskars; the FISH
stories of everyday folks like you and me have
kept the fire burning. In healthcare it has been
likened to a positive staff infection. Dr Lundin
will trace this story from its diverse beginnings
to today’s global phenomenon and while doing
so, will inspire those of us who choose human
resources as our vocation in life to a clearer
understanding of our considerable contributions
to the world.
