WORKSHOPS

Stay tuned for more workshop announcements! Workshops run concurrent to the HR Summit 06 conference and HR Directors Forum 06.

Tuesday 7 March 2006
9.30am - 12.30pm

Building a rewarding business
hosted by Naomi Simson, founder and CEO, Red Balloon Days.
Employee reward programs keep staff happy, but recent evidence suggests that they can also have a significantly positive impact on the bottom line.

Leading this workshop will be Naomi Simson, who has just been announced Entrepreneur of the Year at the Westpac Champion of Champions, and is the founder of RedBalloon Days. Naomi will show how to implement a successful incentive programme in your own company, and how energising your workforce translates to increased customer satisfaction, and additional revenue.

Naomi will be joined by Rob O'Donnell from Virgin Mobile, and Katrina Syrkiewicz from the Commonwealth Bank, who will present case studies on their own reward and incentive programs - and how they assessed the returns.

Tuesday 7 March 2006
2pm - 5pm
Managing relationships in the workplace
hosted by Anne Hollonds, CEO of Relationships Australia NSW.
The quality of workplace relationships can make or break a business; affecting everything from productivity and customer service to investor relations and public image.

Anne Hollonds, CEO of Relationships Australia NSW, will lead this interactive workshop, applying the skills that her organisation has developed over more than 55 years in helping Australians develop and maintain relationships.

In the workshop you will strengthen your ability to recognise and respond to relationship difficulties in the workplace, find out how to improve communication and corporate culture and develop sound negotiation and conflict management skills. The workshop will also include case studies and examples from organisations, demonstrating how a proactive approach to workplace relationships can deliver real results to the business and its people.

Wednesday 8 March 2006
9.30am- 12.30pm
A healthy approach to productivity
hosted by Michelle Spooner, general manager of Total Health, a division of ahm.

What is the impact of health on productivity and absenteeism in the Australian corporate environment?

Find out the benchmarks are for physical, psychosocial and cultural health in Australian organisations, and what companies are doing to address these benchmarks. Specific examples will be provided from ahm's current client list, and will represent organisations of different sizes and industry sectors.

Specifically, ahm Total Health specialises in measuring and benchmarking the impact of physical, psychosocial and cultural health on productivity and absence. The data is then examined and correlated with productivity and absence scores to determine which interventions and wellness programs are likely to have the greatest business impact. ahm Total Health then design and deliver programs and interventions to address the issues in an organisation.
